Your Support is Needed

Project Children's success depends on the support of people such as yourself who are willing to volunteer for one of the many roles that form the foundation for the organization.

Each summer host families are needed to welcome an Irish child into their homes and hearts. (A Host Application form can be downloaded from the link below, or from the Contact Us page.) Individuals and organizations are needed to underwrite the cost of brining the children to the United States, and to offer the interns a chance to work (without compensation) for a few weeks.

Volunteers are also needed for speaking programs and to work at our fund-raising events. Each year the number of children that can be brought over is limited only the amout of money that can be raised on their behalf.

The goals of Project Children are two fold: to give the youth of Northern Ireland a break from political voilence and the opportunity to interact with people of different backgrounds, and to provide the children of Texas with a wider understanding of the world they live in and some of the problems created by bigotry and intolerance. Everyone, the host families and the Irish children alike, benefit from the opportunity to learn from each other.
